Dr. Mareike Dobewall is a director, scenographer, composer, and educator whose interdisciplinary work is context-specific and explores invisible relations through listening and sounding. Mareike received her PhD in Performative and Media-based Practices from Stockholm University of the Arts with her thesis "Voicelanding – Exploring the Scenographic Potential of Acoustic Sound in Site-Sensitive Performance" (2021). She has a passion for working in situ and with environments. Over the past years, she has developed "environmental scores," based on patterns found in nature that are transformed into musical scores and interpreted in collaboration with musicians, demonstrating one of the many ways she engages with her surroundings. The forms that derive from her situated practice vary from music to sculpture, from drawings to videos, from books to shared experiences.
