Henna Asikainen's recent installations bring together birds, migration and human displacement. Lintukoto (2026) is an immersive audio installation of branches and bird nests carrying testimonies from people with lived experience of forced displacement, interwoven with birdsong; it was supported by the Natural History Society of Northumbria and the Hancock natural history museum. To Own Both Nothing and the Whole World (2025), made with writer and architect Roua Horanieh at BALTIC, grew from a year of nature walks and workshops and centres on a large nest-like refuge built from foraged branches, roots and blossom.
