Moon

Moon

A luminous journey into the night, MOON explores the interplay of light, shadow, and celestial mystery. These images capture the quiet power of lunar presence, illuminating the night in moments of stillness. Each photograph invites contemplation—of cycles, tides, and the unseen forces that shape our world.

These lunar images were taken from 1.6 degree south. I find it particularly interesting how the moon appears to rotate relative to the horizon through the months of the year.

The Moon we know today will not be the Moon of the future. As human expansion accelerates, our presence in space grows more disruptive. Thousands of satellites now clutter the night sky, their artificial trails cutting through the Moon’s ancient glow. Future missions will bring mining, colonization, and irreversible change to its surface. What was once a silent, untouched guardian of the night may soon bear the marks of human ambition, its purity lost to the relentless march of progress. These images serve as a reflection—a moment in time before the Moon becomes something else entirely.
