While advertisers continue to divine our innermost truths, beverage ads manipulate our consumer decisions with enticing promises. Adult humans only require water to satisfy thirst, but we continually purchase and consume the alcohol and energy drinks they are hawking, in great quantities, because we are conditioned to believe in the dubious magic of how these drinks might transform us.
