Takyer Carlos Villegas

I am an actor, dancer, and indigenous artist belonging to the Huarpe people in Argentina. I live in the city of San Luis, graduated from the Bellas Artes school, and was artistically nourished by the alternative and independent cultural circuit in the area, exchanging nationally and internationally with other creators. My practice of anthropological theater and dances such as folklore, contemporary, and butoh has been refined into a personal method with which I approach artistic and research processes. To this method, I add my indigenous heritage, integrating the worldview of my people to generate scenes, texts, images, and archives. I am at the University Theater Teaching Program at the UNSL and complement my academic activity with a research internship, a teaching incentive scholarship at the same institution. I maintain a creative, directing, and management relationship with independent spaces such as the “Teatro Estudio Arte” theater and the “La contenta Circo” circus tent.
