Majella Clarke works at the intersection of art, science and technology. As a conductor, her practice focuses on both experimental conducting with technology, as well as traditional conducting of classical music and contemporary ensembles. Her recent projects include Conducting Nature Scores workshop at the Vartiosaari residency in Finland, Spherical Harmonics, which creates gesture scores and sculptures inspired by the shapes of spherical harmonics with a sonic baton; premiering and conducting graphic scores working alongside multiple living composers. She was the director of the first Earth Day Concert in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2023. In addition, she has more than 10 years of experience as a strategy consultant working on sustainability, Global Earth Observation Systems, Data Strategy and Artificial Intelligence, and has more than seven years of experience as a negotiator and advisor to various delegations to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
