Louise Mackenzie is an artist based in the UK. She is a director of ASCUS Art and Science, Edinburgh and a lecturer in Contemporary Art Practice at DJCAD, University of Dundee. Her research is concerned with articulating human relationships with the nonhuman world. With an interest in experimental and experiential practices, sound and new/found media play an important role in her work. Drawing from her former career in psychology and business consultancy, her work is collaborative, often engaging with fields outside of the cultural sector. Her artworks have been exhibited nationally and internationally, including MOMENTUM13 (Norway), ZKM (Germany), Science Gallery London (UK), the National Library of Spain (Madrid), Lumiere (Durham), BALTIC39 (Newcastle) and Basement 6 Collective (Shanghai) and she has written for Bloomsbury, Routledge, Manchester University Press, Intellect, Springer and MIT Press. Recent works include Shit Happens! at Science Gallery London; (Trying and Failing to) Listen Carefully (2024) at CCA, Glasgow and Attractor at MOMENTUM 13, Norway.
