Hovey Brock
Hovey Brock is an artist and writer who lives and works in Ulster County, New York. His latest project, Crazy River, addresses climate catastrophe on the West Branch of the Neversink in the Catskills, where he grew up. “Neversink” is a corruption of the river’s original Lenapé name, which means something like “crazy river.” He writes frequently for the Brooklyn Rail and is working on a collection of personal essays about the climate crisis in the Catskills, one of which got published in the 2022 Winter/Spring edition of Appalachia Journal.
