Gabo Guzzo, holding an MSc in Economics from Università L. Bocconi, Milan, Italy, and an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College, London, UK, embraces a cross-disciplinary and multimedia approach in art, merging sculpture, text, spoken word, photography, drawing, design, and video to craft hybrid forms of language. His ongoing artistic exploration delves into the meaning of human nature, addressing concepts like purity, impurity, and the tension between nature, culture, science, myth, chance, and control. Drawing inspiration from labor process theory, social anthropology, and contemporary political philosophy, Guzzo scrutinises the critical framework within which art operates today. His work investigates how human activity has shaped the planet on a geological scale, reflecting on the cultural and natural implications. An earlier project, "The Geological Turn: Art and the Anthropocene," featured collaboration with figures such as Nobel Laureate Paul Crutzen, art historian TJ Demos, geologist Jan Zalasiewicz, and artist-writer Rasheed Araeen. It stands out as the first artist-led initiative addressing the concept of the Anthropocene.
