I am a part-time lecturer and researcher at Gray's School of Art, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland. I also work as a producer of public art projects. My focus is the role of artists and designers in public life with a focus on environment and health. Over the past few years a particular focus has been on artists working with woodland creation and forestry - I have been involved with the Future of UK Treescapes research project and also worked with The Nature of Cities and their collaboration with the US Forest Service Northern Research Station as part of the NaturePLACE project team. In the latter context I have been supporting evaluation and impact. I have also co-authored a number of publications (articles and a book) focused by the practice of the pioneering ecological artists Helen Mayer Harrison and Newton Harrison. I had the privilege to work with them on projects too.
